Text Box: The Delaware Chapter was chartered on November 8, 1953. There were 23 chapter members. The first president was Lillian Gordon. Current membership is 14 members. New members are always welcome. Our meetings have educational programs, speakers and a business meeting following.   What is IAAP? We are a not-for-profit and an international association of more than 30,000 office professionals representing the interests and welfare of persons In or preparing for office professional related positions.   We are the voice of the office professional profession.   We provide educational resources to help members achieve and maintain the highest possible level of competence and professional development.   We want to make a difference by working to upgrade the image of the office professionals in the workplace and in our communities.   We enjoy the opportunity to learn, have fun and create lasting friendships.   We want to keep today’s office professionals abreast of rapidly changing technologies.   We want to have available resources to assist in making, accepting and implementing change.   Definition of an Administrative Professional   An administrative professional shall be defined as an individual who possesses a mastery of office skills, who demonstrates the ability to assume responsibility without direct supervision, who exercises initiative and judgment, and who makes decisions within the scope of assigned authority.
